Over 400 artists and labels have announced they are removing their music from streaming platforms in Israel, joining the 'No Music For Genocide' initiative in response to the ongoing war in Gaza.

Acts including Fontaines DC, Kneecap, The Mary Wallopers, Amyl and The Sniffers, Massive Attack, and Black Country New Road are among those confirmed.

The campaign calls on musicians to use their work as a form of protest, echoing previous cultural boycotts against apartheid South Africa that were credited with applying international pressure.

A statement from organisers explained, “This tangible act is just one step toward honouring Palestinian demands to isolate and delegitimise Israel as it kills without consequence on the world stage. When we wield our creative power together, we add unified pressure to a growing global movement.”

Massive Attack issued their own message, saying, “In 2025 the same now applies to the genocidal state of Israel. As of today, there’s a musician’s equivalent of the recently announced @filmworkers4palestine campaign.” They called on fellow musicians to “transfer their sadness, anger and artistic contributions into a coherent, reasonable and vital action.”

The boycott is part of wider cultural and political campaigns aligned with the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
