Pokimane shares criticism on Sabrina Carpenter Coachella moment involving fan Arabic chant

Pokimane has commented on a moment involving Sabrina Carpenter during a Coachella performance, where a fan’s Arabic chant prompted a reaction that has since been discussed online.
The streamer addressed the situation during a recent livestream, sharing her perspective on how the interaction was handled.
According to Pokimane, Carpenter referenced “Burning Man” in response to the crowd. While Pokimane noted she was not fully familiar with the festival being mentioned, her comments focused on what she perceived as a dismissive response to a fan expressing their culture.
“It just hurt me to hear specifically that reaction to someone speaking about their culture,” Pokimane said during the stream.
She went on to relate the moment to her own experiences growing up, recalling how classmates reacted negatively when she brought ethnic food to school.
By sharing this context, she framed her response as part of a broader discussion about cultural understanding.
Despite her criticism, Pokimane clarified that she did not view the situation as grounds for personal attacks. “I think she was probably just frustrated. I don’t think this is a reason to assassinate her character or say she’s a terrible person,” she said.
Pokimane also used the moment to encourage a wider message about cultural respect and awareness. “Just because you don’t get it doesn’t mean you need to put it down in any way, especially if it’s something cultural,” she added.
