Seth Rogen opens up about filming The Studio after Catherine O’Hara tragedy
Seth Rogen says working on The Studio season 2 helped the cast process grief after Catherine O’Hara’s death

Seth Rogen has opened up about the emotional impact of returning to work on The Studio season 2 following the death of co-star Catherine O’Hara earlier this year.
Speaking to Radio Times at an Apple TV event during the BAFTA TV Awards, Rogen described filming the new season as both difficult and healing for the cast and crew. O’Hara, known for iconic roles in Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek, played mentor figure Patty Leigh in the acclaimed Apple TV comedy series before her sudden passing.
“Being with this group of people every day and getting to work with them and getting to make each other laugh has been very therapeutic,” Rogen said. “It kind of allowed us to move through it all together.”
Rogen stars as studio executive Matt Remick in the Hollywood satire, which follows the challenges of balancing creative ambitions with commercial studio pressures. The series quickly became one of Apple TV’s most praised comedies, earning awards attention including BAFTA, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominations.
Co-star Ike Barinholtz also confirmed that there is very little unused footage of O’Hara from season 1, meaning the show will honour her legacy in a different way. Rogen revealed that season 2 will include a tribute to both the actress and her character, though details remain undisclosed.
Production on The Studio season 2 began earlier this year, with the cast teasing larger-scale storylines and sequences, including scenes set at the Venice Film Festival. A release date has not yet been announced.
