Hollywood has been left in shock following the sudden death of Brad Everett Young, the actor and renowned celebrity photographer, who was killed in a devastating car crash on the 134 Freeway in California. He was 46 years old.
According to his representative, Young’s vehicle was struck head-on by a driver travelling the wrong way down the motorway. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other motorist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The tragic accident has sparked a wave of grief across the entertainment industry, where Young was celebrated both for his on-screen roles and his photography.
Young had appeared in hit television series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Boy Meets World, and Charlie’s Angels, but his biggest impact was arguably behind the camera. His photography, often published in Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The Hollywood Reporter, captured stars including David Harbour, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seth Green. He also founded the Dream Loud Official campaign, which championed the importance of arts and music education in schools across America.
His representative Paul Christensen described him as someone whose “passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” while fellow actor Parry Shan from General Hospital called him “one of the kindest and most generous people” in an emotional tribute. Actor Chris McKenna also shared some of the final photographs Young had taken of him only weeks before his passing, noting that “we won’t see another like him.”
Fans, too, have flooded social media with condolences, remembering Young as a warm and respectful presence on red carpets and in fan circles. One wrote on X, “Such a tragedy, such a loss. A lovely man who treated everyone with kindness. RIP Brad Everett Young.”
Young leaves behind his brother, Chris, and a legacy defined by positivity, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to supporting the arts.
