Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce drew attention ahead of the team’s home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, arriving at Arrowhead Stadium in a suit-shorts combination that divided fans on social media.
The 35-year-old, recently engaged to singer Taylor Swift, wore a tailored navy blazer, crisp white dress shirt, and matching shorts, paired with black dress shoes, a slim tie, and sunglasses. The outfit quickly became a talking point online.
Reactions to the look were mixed. One fan wrote: “Jesus Christ he looks stupid,” while another added, “I love Travis but this fit is frying me.” Others dismissed the style entirely, with one saying, “Suit shorts are one of the worst fashion trends ever.”
Kelce has previously spoken about his approach to game-day fashion. In a 2023 interview with WSJ Magazine, he described himself as an “impulse shopper” who spends significant time preparing outfits but often finalises them just before games.
“It really just goes down to the wire,” he said, explaining that his wardrobe includes over 300 pairs of sneakers. He added: “Not every look is for everybody. I’m not going to be offended if somebody says I look like a clown… I’m gonna have fun with it.”
The pre-game arrival came ahead of a high-profile rematch, with Philadelphia having defeated Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX seven months earlier. The match carried additional significance as the Eagles remain the team of Kelce’s brother, Jason.
