Stability patch rolled out for Borderlands 4 after negative player feedback

Borderlands 4’s PC community has been vocal about performance issues since launch, and Gearbox has now released a patch on September 13, 2025, aimed at addressing those concerns.

Since the game's debut on Steam, thousands of players have left negative reviews citing poor frame rates, stuttering, and crashes—even on high-end systems. These complaints have pushed the game’s overall user rating down to a “Mixed” status.

In a blog post accompanying the update, Gearbox explained that the September 13 patch focuses on enhancing stability across various PC hardware setups. To further assist players, both Gearbox and publisher 2K have published performance optimization guides for NVIDIA and AMD users. These guides recommend updating drivers and adjusting settings tailored to each GPU and resolution.

Despite the patch, performance issues persist for some players, and new negative reviews continue to surface. However, early responses suggest that the update has brought noticeable improvements, and many users remain cautiously optimistic.
