Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, is prompting a rare in-store retail event at Target.
On October 3, 2025, approximately 500 Target stores nationwide will open at midnight local time to offer the album, including three exclusive CD editions.
The Target-exclusive editions, It’s Frightening, It’s Rapturous, and It’s Beautiful, feature collectible posters, unique packaging, and a limited-edition booklet.
While the stores will remain open past normal hours, fans who cannot attend in person can also pre-order these editions online through Target’s website.
Midnight album releases were a common tradition in the 1980s and 1990s but have become rare in the streaming era. Target’s decision to host this event reflects the enduring demand for physical music formats and collectible merchandise among fans of Taylor Swift.
Previous exclusive releases at Target have drawn large crowds, including a vinyl edition of The Tortured Poets Department and an Eras Tour book last year, which sold out quickly.
