Raegan Revord, best known for portraying Missy Cooper on CBS’s Young Sheldon, has publicly shared that they identify as nonbinary. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 17-year-old actor said they are proud to be open about their identity and hopeful that their journey will resonate with others.

“It’s so cool because growing up, whenever I would see a celebrity or whoever come out as nonbinary or queer, I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is so cool. I see myself in you,’” Revord told Entertainment Tonight. “And now it’s so crazy to have that experience where I’m now that person.”

Revord reflected on how meaningful it could be for young fans to see someone like them on screen. “There might be a kid somewhere who’s like, ‘Oh my god, I see myself in you,’” they said, noting that they once felt the same way.

Young Sheldon ended in May 2024 after seven seasons, but Revord has continued to appear as Missy in the spinoff series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. They told Entertainment Tonight they recently filmed another episode and would be open to returning again. “I love Missy so much. I couldn’t say no,” Revord said.

In addition to their television work, Revord has acted in series including Modern Family, Night Court, and Grace & Frankie. They are also the author of Rules of Fake Girlfriends, a new young adult novel centered on a queer love story. Speaking with People, Revord said they were determined to pursue writing despite skepticism about their age. “I had such a passion and such a love for this book and this story, and I thought it was so important to tell,” they said.
