Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly has publicly criticized actress Blake Lively for allegedly subpoenaing her in connection with Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against actor-director Justin Baldoni.

On her SiriusXM podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News anchor claimed that Lively targeted her and other media figures as part of a broader effort to investigate a supposed smear campaign against her.

Kelly said Lively subpoenaed more than a dozen media personalities and content creators — including Candace Owens, Perez Hilton, and Zack Peters — under the belief that they were colluding with Baldoni or his legal team to damage Lively’s reputation. “Because Blake Lively was unable to fathom that yours truly had developed a genuine revulsion toward her on my own, she posited that I must have been ensnared in Baldoni’s alleged ongoing smear campaign against her,” Kelly said.

She added that Lively assumed her shared attorney with Baldoni, Bryan Freedman, was influencing her coverage. Kelly denied these claims, asserting that she had formed her negative opinions about Lively independently and without any influence or compensation from Baldoni’s side. “She actually thinks I needed to get paid by Baldoni’s team to say negative things about her,” Kelly remarked. “It was all you who made me unable to stand you. No man had anything to do with it.”

Kelly announced that she successfully fought the subpoena and did not turn over any communications or internal materials. “We gave her absolutely nothing: not one document, not one record, not one communication,” she said, emphasizing that she would never compromise journalistic integrity or violate protections granted under the First Amendment.

Kelly expressed concern for others allegedly subpoenaed by Lively who may not have the legal resources to defend themselves. Blogger Perez Hilton previously confirmed he was representing himself due to financial limitations.

However, a spokesperson for Lively denied that the actress had subpoenaed Kelly, stating that no subpoena was issued to her during the litigation. The representative affirmed that discovery is ongoing in an effort to substantiate Lively’s claims of retaliation by Baldoni and his associates.

Lively filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Baldoni in late 2024, while Baldoni’s $400 million defamation countersuit was dismissed in June 2025. A trial is scheduled for March 2026.
