Blake Lively has filed a legal motion against gossip blogger Perez Hilton, alleging he played a key role in a sustained online smear campaign against her. The actress claims Hilton posted or shared more than 540 negative pieces targeting her across his platforms, all while never reaching out for comment. The motion, filed in Manhattan federal court, is part of her broader legal battle connected to It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

According to Lively’s legal team, Hilton’s posts were not only excessive but strategically framed to support Baldoni’s side in their ongoing feud. Lively claims Hilton repeatedly used derogatory nicknames like Blackface Blake, Lying Lively, and Ku Klux Khaleesi to vilify her. The actress now seeks a court order compelling Hilton to turn over any communications he may have had with Baldoni or his associates.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., has denied any collaboration. He argues that his coverage was based on publicly available court documents and claims journalistic independence. In a separate filing in Las Vegas, Hilton asked for the subpoena to be quashed, stating that he is not a party to the Lively–Baldoni dispute and should not be forced to participate.

But Lively’s lawyers insist Hilton’s actions were not neutral reporting but rather active participation in an orchestrated character attack. They are also requesting that Hilton cover the legal costs incurred in trying to obtain the documents and communications in question.

The case comes in the wake of a now-dismissed counterclaim by Baldoni, who had accused Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds of defamation. Though Baldoni’s suit was thrown out earlier this year, the fallout continues to ripple across social media, with fans and commentators criticising Hilton’s role in shaping the public narrative around Lively.
