At the premiere of Darren Aronofsky’s new film Caught Stealing, Austin Butler drew attention not only for his leading role but also for his conduct on the red carpet.

Journalist Brandon Streussnig described his experience at the event, noting that due to scheduling issues, most reporters were unable to speak with the cast before the screening.

According to Streussnig, Butler returned to the carpet after introducing the film and took nearly an hour to engage with journalists. He spoke with each outlet individually, giving them the material they needed for their coverage.

Streussnig emphasised that no one else from the film’s team did the same and credited Butler’s actions with salvaging the assignments of many reporters.

Streussnig concluded by acknowledging Butler’s professionalism, adding, “That guy has my respect forever, he didn’t have to do that at all. Kinda think he’s the real deal.”

Caught Stealing, adapted from Charlie Huston’s novel, is set in 1998 New York and follows Butler as Henry Thompson, a bartender drawn into a violent chase through the city.

The film, which releases today, marks a lighter turn for Aronofsky, blending crime thriller elements with his distinctive style.
