Kanye West postpones Marseille concert amid potential France ban
Kanye West postpones Marseille concert as reports suggest possible France entry restrictions

Kanye West has postponed his concert in Marseille, France, scheduled for June 11 at the Orange Vélodrome as part of his Ye Live Concert Tour 2026. The artist confirmed the decision on X, stating that it was his own choice.
“After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,” he wrote.
West also addressed his past controversies, stating he is continuing efforts to make amends for previous antisemitic and offensive remarks.
“I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends I take full responsibility for what's mine but I don't want to put my fans in the middle of it,” he added. “My fans are everything to me Looking forward to the next shows See you at the top of the globe (sic).”
The postponement follows comments made in early March by Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan, who said the artist was “not welcome” in the city and would not allow it to be “a showcase for those who promote hatred”.
Reports have also suggested that French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez may have been considering blocking West from entering the country, although no official confirmation has been issued.
Separately, organisers of the Wireless Festival in London confirmed earlier this month that the 2026 event had been cancelled after UK Home Office officials withdrew West’s digital permit. He had been scheduled to headline all three nights.
In January, West published an apology in The Wall Street Journal addressing his previous remarks, citing personal circumstances, including his bipolar disorder diagnosis and a past car accident.
His next scheduled performance is set for May 23 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.
