Devon Walker has announced his departure from Saturday Night Live ahead of its 51st season.

The comedian, who joined the cast in 2022 as a featured player and was promoted the following year, confirmed the news in a candid Instagram post, humorously comparing his exit to a breakup: "Me and baby broke up."

In the same post, Walker reflected on his three-year tenure at SNL, describing the experience as rewarding but also, at times, “toxic as hell.”

He emphasized that despite the challenges, he is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the cast and crew, calling the team a “f—ed up lil family” and highlighting the growth and learning he gained during his time on the show.

Looking ahead, Walker shared plans to travel to Japan before pursuing roles in prestige dramas, ideally collaborating with actors such as Julianne Moore.

The announcement comes amid broader cast changes at SNL. Creator Lorne Michaels confirmed that season 51 will feature several adjustments following the show’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.

Writer Celeste Yim also announced their exit after five seasons, describing the show as transformative yet demanding.
