Terry Crews and Rebecca Crews have shared details of her long-term battle with Parkinson’s disease, outlining her diagnosis, treatment journey and recent progress following a new medical procedure.

Rebecca Crews was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015 after experiencing several years of unexplained symptoms.

Speaking about her condition, she described a difficult period prior to receiving new treatment. “I hadn’t slept in three days [due to the disease],” she said. “And I felt like I wanted to die.”

Her husband, Terry Crews, said he had been researching treatment options for years before learning about a recently approved procedure using sound waves. “I’d been reading about this and researching it for ten years,” he said. “I told her, ‘Honey, I really think this will help you.’”

The treatment, known as focused ultrasound, is a non-invasive procedure that targets areas of the brain to reduce symptoms such as tremors. Rebecca underwent the procedure at Stanford Hospital, which significantly improved her condition.

She said the decision to speak publicly about her diagnosis was linked to this progress. “The only reason I’m going public,” she said, “is because I finally have some uplifting information to offer.”

Terry Crews described the impact of the disease on their daily lives. “It hurts,” he said. “It’s definitely been hard to watch her on those days when I see her so worn out by this. We’re going through this together.”

Rebecca is among a smaller group of patients to receive the treatment, which medical professionals describe as a developing approach to managing Parkinson’s symptoms. She is scheduled to return for further treatment later this year.

Despite ongoing challenges, Rebecca continues to work on personal projects and family commitments. She credited her husband for his support throughout her health journey, while Terry emphasised his focus on ensuring she receives continued care.
