The memoir of Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers, will be released this autumn, publisher Alfred A. Knopf confirmed. Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, co-written with journalist Amy Wallace, will be published on 21 October.
Giuffre, who alleged she was trafficked for sex to Prince Andrew, completed the manuscript before taking her own life in April. Prince Andrew has consistently denied the allegations, though he reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022.
Knopf released an email Giuffre sent to Wallace weeks before her death, in which she described publication as her “heartfelt wish,” regardless of circumstances. “The content of this book is crucial, as it aims to shed light on systemic failures that allow trafficking of vulnerable individuals across borders,” she wrote.
The publisher said the memoir includes “intimate, disturbing, and heartbreaking” new details about Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their associates, including Prince Andrew, about whom Giuffre speaks publicly for the first time since the 2022 settlement. Knopf editor-in-chief Jordan Pavlin called the work a “raw and shocking journey” of resilience.
Publishing details reveal Giuffre initially signed a seven-figure contract with Penguin Press but followed editor Emily Cunningham to Knopf in 2023. The book, Knopf said, was “vigorously fact-checked and legally vetted.”
Giuffre, 41, had lived in Western Australia for several years. She died on 25 April, weeks after being hospitalized for an accident.
Giuffre’s earlier unpublished memoir, The Billionaire’s Playboy Club, surfaced in 2019 court filings but was never released. Wallace, her co-author, has written for The New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
Representatives for Prince Andrew and Buckingham Palace did not respond to requests for comment, the Associated Press reported.
