Seth Meyers has announced the death of his dog Frisbee, who was a regular source of affection and humour for the late-night host and his audience.
The Italian Greyhound, aged 14, passed away this week, with Meyers sharing the news in an Instagram post. “RIP to Frisbee, our OG IG who I was happy to go grey with,” Meyers wrote alongside photos from over the years.
The tribute included a series of images showing Frisbee as a puppy, curled on Meyers’ lap, and playing at home. The post prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans and colleagues. Rachel Dratch wrote, “Noooo! Frisbeeee! sorry for your loss.” while Retta added, “Awwww Frisbeeeeeee.”
Sarah Paulson described Frisbee as “Darlingest of the darling dogs” and Alyssa Milano called losing a pet the “worst pain ever.”
Frisbee also became a recurring topic on Late Night With Seth Meyers, particularly during appearances by Andy Samberg, who often joked about his dislike for the dog.
During a virtual interview in 2020, Frisbee appeared on camera as Samberg held a note reading, “Frisbee sucks.” Samberg later continued the running gag in 2023, referring to Frisbee as “Seth’s nightmare-inducing hell spawn.”
Just last month, Meyers and Amy Poehler joked on her podcast about pretending Frisbee had died to trick Samberg, highlighting the long-running comedic rivalry.
