South Korean singer and television host Kim Jong-kook has officially announced his upcoming marriage. The 49-year-old star revealed the news in a handwritten letter shared on his fan cafe forum.
In the letter, Kim wrote,
Hello, I am Kim Jong Kook.
I have always been mentally preparing myself for the day that I will write something like this and post it on my own, but now that I am actually preparing to write this, I am more nervous than I ever imagined.
I would like to share this with my fans first, who have been trusting and cheering on for me and for always being on the human Kim Jong Kook's side for a long time now.
I am getting married.
I thought I have tried to make it a little obvious, but of course there will be people who will be taken aback by this.
It's my 30th debut anniversary this year, but instead of making my own album, I have my another half instead . Despite that, please congratulate and cheer for me. It's a bit late, but isn't it fortunate that I can still get married right?
I will try to live my best.
My wedding ceremony will be held soon quietly in a small scale, with just my family, friends and close acquaintances.
Thanks to all my fans who have always given me great strength for a long time, I am able to get married and take on a new challenge in life. I will be the Kim Jong Kook who works and lives harder.

The Running Man personality confirmed that the wedding will take place soon in a private setting. According to his note, the ceremony will be attended only by family members, close relatives and a few acquaintances. His bride’s identity has not been revealed.
Kim’s agency, Turbo JK Company, also released a statement, "It's even more meaningful to make this new start in the significant year of his 30th debut anniversary. It would be great if many people could send him warm support and congratulations."
Beyond his personal milestone, Kim is also preparing for his professional commitments. He is working on a 30th-anniversary commemorative album and has scheduled a concert for October 2025, marking three decades in the music industry.
