Netflix has revealed the first look at its upcoming Pride and Prejudice limited series, alongside new casting announcements as production begins in the United Kingdom. The six-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s 1813 novel is directed by Heartstopper’s Euros Lyn and written by screenwriter and author Dolly Alderton.

Leading the cast are Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, and Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, who were previously announced.

Newly confirmed cast members include Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) as Mr. Bennet and Freya Mavor (Industry) as Jane Bennet. Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) will portray Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) joins as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge (House of Guinness) appears as Mr. Wickham.

Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) plays Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) is Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) takes on the role of Lady Catherine de Bourg. Newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery will make their debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet, respectively.

The supporting ensemble also features Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon.

Alderton called adapting Pride and Prejudice a privilege, describing the novel as “the blueprint for romantic comedy.” She added, “It has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.”

Executive producers include Corrin, Alderton, Laura Lankester, Euros Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne serves as producer. A release date has yet to be announced.
