BTS’s Jungkook recently gave a heartfelt shoutout to Justin Bieber during a Weverse livestream, referring to the pop star by his Korean nickname “Ddeu-ddo hyungnim” while discussing Bieber’s new album Swag.
The affectionate term, which combines a Korean interpretation of Bieber’s name (“비버”) with a phonetic twist, delighted fans who are already familiar with Jungkook’s admiration for the Canadian singer.
“I’ve been listening to Ddeu-ddo hyungnim’s new album Swag,” Jungkook shared, casually dropping the nickname during his livestream.

The playful term caught attention, as fans realised it stems from visually rotating the Korean characters for Bieber’s name, resulting in “뜨또.” The moment quickly went viral, with ARMYs embracing the new moniker.
Jungkook’s shoutout isn’t the first time Bieber has embraced Korean culture, he previously had “비버” (Bieber) tattooed in Hangul, along with a traditional Hahoe mask, further endearing himself to Korean fans.

Jungkook also surprised fans by singing a soft rendition of Bieber’s Changes, further fuelling excitement.
Following the livestream, fans flooded social media with posts urging a Jungkook x Justin Bieber project, pointing out their complementary vocal styles and shared fanbases.
