Federal Minister for Water Resources Mian Muhammad Mueen Wattoo visited the Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme (K-IV Project) to review development work.
As per a statement released on Wednesday, the minister inspected key project components, including the intake structure and pumping stations at Keenjhar Lake, the pressurised pipeline to Karachi, water reservoirs, and filtration plants in suburban areas.
The project team briefed the minister on site-wise progress and timelines. Overall physical progress has reached 63%, with Rs86.4 billion spent so far. Construction on all components is ongoing, and Phase-I is expected to complete by 2026, contingent on timely funding.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and reaffirmed the federal government's full support.
