Stephen King has drawn criticism online after commenting on the Jeffrey Epstein client list in a post on X, leading to backlash from conspiracy supporters. The author tweeted to his 6.8 million followers, dismissing claims that such a list exists.

The post, which has been viewed over 28 million times, led to thousands of quote tweets criticising King’s position.
King later posted, “Boy, I hit a nerve with that Epstein post. The ‘list’ is like UFOs: Everyone knows someone who’s seen one.”
King’s comment followed a Department of Justice memo that stated no client list existed, despite ongoing discussions among politicians and online communities.
House Democrats, including California Representative Ro Khanna, attempted to push for the release of Department of Justice files related to Epstein, but the House Rules Committee blocked the measure in a 6-5 vote.
King has frequently used his platform to criticise Donald Trump, writing earlier this year, “Just wanted to say that Trump is a traitorous, Putin-loving dipshit! Goes double for Elon!”
Meanwhile, Kevin Spacey has called for the release of the Epstein files, stating on X, “For those of us with nothing to fear, the truth can’t come soon enough.”
