Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet are the latest stars to join the high-fashion world of The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The sequel to the iconic 2006 film adds several fresh faces, including Broadway talents Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora, as well as comedian Caleb Hearon.
Disney’s 20th Century Studios is producing the film, which is currently in production and scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026. Returning stars include Meryl Streep as the icy Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Kenneth Branagh, previously announced, joins as Miranda’s husband.
Original cast members Tracie Thoms (Lily) and Tibor Feldman (Irv Ravitz) will also reprise their roles, further tying the sequel to its beloved predecessor.
The plot reportedly follows Miranda Priestly as she struggles to adapt to the digital age and fights for advertising revenue against her former assistant Emily, now a powerful fashion executive. Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna are back on board, alongside producer Karen Rosenfelt.
The Devil Wears Prada was based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel inspired by her time at Vogue. The original film grossed $326 million globally and earned Meryl Streep an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
With a stellar mix of original and new cast members, Devil Wears Prada 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.
