YouTuber Alexis ‘Quackity’ Maldonado has returned to the platform after nearly three years, unveiling his real-time translation tool, Dababel, designed to help streamers reach new audiences by removing language barriers.

Quackity’s last YouTube video was uploaded in August 2022, with his surprise return on July 7 2025 revealing what he has been working on since stepping away from content creation.

After making content in Spanish, Quackity described Dababel as the “biggest project of [his] career,” stating it has the potential to “change the world.”

Dababel describes itself as the “first ever universal text and voice translation tool,” though other real-time translation tools exist. Dababel distinguishes itself by replicating a user’s voice, allowing speech to be translated as if spoken in another language.

This feature was demonstrated with Breaking Bad actor Luis Moncada, who heard his son’s voice in Spanish for the first time. “That’s amazing,” Moncada said. “You’re going to make me cry. You gave me his voice, in Spanish. It touched my heart.”

Dababel launches with three modes. Conversation Mode allows two individuals to speak in different languages while the app translates in real time. Universal Mode translates live streams or pre-recorded videos, while Play Mode allows users to hear their own voice in another language.

Despite claiming to let users “speak and understand any language in the world, with your voice,” Dababel currently supports only six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, and Korean.

All functions require Credits, available through subscriptions starting at $9.99 USD per week, with business-tier options reaching $139.99 USD per week.

Currently, Dababel integrates with PC applications like Discord and Zoom, with OBS support in development to enable real-time captions for livestream viewers.
