A viral post on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked online speculation that rapper Sexyy Red is secretly a CIA operative. The post, shared by the parody account @DailyNoud on March 28, included a screenshot of what appeared to be a news article claiming the artist has operated under the codename “Agent Bow Bow” since 2018. It also alleged that leaked documents referred to her mission as “highly destabilizing and culturally critical.”

However, there is no evidence to support the claim. The alleged documents are not publicly available, and no credible news outlet has reported on them. Given the satirical source and absence of supporting evidence, the claim is likely unfounded.
While Red has remained silent on the viral post, she recently made headlines for a separate legal matter. According to a Page Six report on March 26, the rapper, whose real name is Janae Wherry, was named in a lawsuit filed by Nicole Barnes, the paternal grandmother of one of her children.
Barnes alleges that Wherry posted her home address and photo on Facebook in December 2024, encouraging her followers to “kick in the door” and carry out violent acts. As a result, Barnes claims she was forced to relocate and now seeks $5 million in damages. Her attorney told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Barnes has been unable to find an affordable new home and is undergoing therapy for emotional distress.
Amid the headlines, Red continues to focus on her music, currently filming a video for her new country-rap single Beer and Baddies with singer Caldwell. The project is being shot in Columbia, South Carolina, following the track’s March 28 release.
