Pakistani singer Atif Aslam suprised students at the International School Lahore on Thursday by walking into their classroom and performing his famous song, Aadat.

The students’ subdued reaction has drawn widespread attention online. Instead of singing along, many students chose to record the moment on their phones, sparking a debate about changing generational behaviours.

A viral video of the event shows Atif Aslam strumming his guitar and singing while moving around the classroom. Despite his performance, the students appeared calm, with some barely acknowledging the superstar’s presence.

Social media users reacted with disbelief, calling the students “the worst audience” and questioning why they didn’t engage with the renowned artist.

“Gen Z doesn’t know how to vibe with legends anymore,” commented one user. Another joked, “Galti se ameeron ke school mein chale gaye.”

Atif Aslam, a celebrated figure in South Asia’s music industry, is known for hits such as Tu Jaane Na, Tere Bin, and Hona Tha Pyar.

Social media remains divided, with some defending the students’ choice to document the moment rather than react more emotionally, while others lament what they see as a lost sense of connection with music .
