Meta has announced plans to launch a test in Germany, France, and the United States that will allow buyers to browse eBay listings on Facebook Marketplace and complete transactions directly on eBay.
The test, aimed at expanding the marketplace’s offerings, will provide eBay sellers exposure to Facebook's vast audience, while Marketplace users will gain access to a wider range of listings from eBay’s community.
This development comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Meta’s Marketplace practices. In November, the European Commission fined Meta $840 million for abusive practices related to Facebook Marketplace, claiming it unfairly favored its own services.
Meta, however, continues to appeal the decision while addressing the concerns raised by the Commission. The European Commission has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding Meta's latest move.
