Actress Courtney Ford has filed for divorce from her husband, Brandon Routh, after 17 years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 'Dexter' star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split but did not specify a separation date.
Ford and Routh, who share a 12-year-old son named Leo, are seeking joint legal and physical custody of their child. Courtney has also requested spousal support while asking the court to deny Brandon any spousal support.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2007 at El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, were together for over two decades, having dated for three years before their engagement in 2006.
Routh is widely known for portraying Superman in 'Superman Returns,' while Ford has appeared in hit TV series such as 'True Blood,' 'Parenthood,' and 'Supernatural.'
