At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nvidia introduced Project DIGITS, a "personal AI supercomputer" designed to bring the company’s Grace Blackwell hardware platform into a compact, desktop-friendly form.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described Project DIGITS as a cloud computing platform that can sit on a desk and function as a powerful workstation.

Project DIGITS is aimed at AI researchers, data scientists, and students. It features Nvidia’s new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which combines an Nvidia Blackwell GPU and a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU, offering up to a petaflop of computing performance.

This makes it suitable for prototyping, fine-tuning, and running large AI models. Nvidia claims that a single unit can handle models with up to 200 billion parameters, a measure of an AI model's problem-solving capability.

The system includes 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage, with the ability to link two units together to run models up to 405 billion parameters.

Project Digits can operate independently or connect to a primary Windows or Mac PC, providing flexibility for various workflows.

Project Digits machines will be available starting in May 2025, with pricing set at $3,000. They will run Nvidia’s Linux-based DGX OS and be distributed through select partners.

Despite the high cost, Nvidia believes there is a market for the system, as Huang emphasized that it could bring powerful AI capabilities to millions of developers, researchers, and students.
