Sabrina Carpenter, 25, has earned her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, a milestone that highlights her decade-long journey in the music industry. Speaking to People, Carpenter expressed gratitude for the recognition. “I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young,” she shared, reflecting on the steady “baby steps” that led to this achievement.

Carpenter’s year took off with the release of her chart-topping single Espresso in April 2024, followed by her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, in August. In addition to Best New Artist, she is nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. “It’s such an honor,” she said, adding that Grammy recognition had been a childhood dream.

Her Short n’ Sweet tour, which marked her first arena tour, further cemented her success. The North American leg, featuring collaborations with T-Mobile, included fan-centric experiences like the “Sweet Spot” pop-up. Carpenter praised her fans’ creative outfits and humorous signs, calling them the highlight of her shows. “Connecting with my fans each night was so special,” she said.

As she gears up for the European leg of her tour in March 2025, Carpenter looks forward to revisiting cities she hasn’t seen in years. “I’m excited to see which crowd is the loudest,” she shared.

Reflecting on her whirlwind year, Carpenter emphasized staying present and connecting with fans. “I’m just happy to see my songs resonate with so many people from all walks of life,” she said.
