Aubrey Plaza was scheduled to present at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday before her husband, Jeff Baena, tragically passed away at 47 on Friday.

The “Parks and Recreation” star was included in the list of over three dozen presenters announced by the Golden Globes on Thursday.

It remains uncertain whether Plaza will attend the event, which is set to broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Baena passed away on Friday from an apparent suicide, according to records from the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by Page Six. TMZ reported that he was found unresponsive at his Los Angeles home by an assistant.

Authorities responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. local time on Friday and declared him dead on arrival.

Plaza, 40, has not yet addressed her husband’s death publicly. Her representative confirmed to Page Six that the family is “devastated” and directed inquiries to a statement given to Deadline.

The couple had been together since 2010, and Plaza revealed on Instagram in 2021 that they had secretly married in 2020 while quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She later shared that it was Baena’s idea to marry, although it initially began as a joke.

The Instagram post where Plaza announced her marriage appears to be the only public image she shared with Baena on the platform. In the caption, she referred to him as her “darling husband.”

The couple did not have children, though Plaza told GQ in 2022 that she considered getting pregnant during the pandemic.

In the same interview, she opened up about her marriage, drawing comparisons between her real-life relationship and her “White Lotus” character, Harper.

“I’ve been with my husband for 12 years. I relate to being in a relationship that has peaks and valleys, and going through a rough patch and comparing yourself to another couple that seems perfect,” she said.
