SKIMS and The North Face team up for winter collection, fans reacts: 'Feels like Kanye’s aesthetic'

Kim Kardashian's recent SKIMS x The North Face collaboration has fans divided.

 Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS is stepping into the world of winter wear with its first-ever cold-weather collection, created in collaboration with The North Face. 

The two brands have teamed up for a solutions-oriented line that reimagines The North Face’s iconic outerwear styles, infused with SKIMS’ signature flattering fits and subtle tonal colorways.

“This collaboration marks SKIMS’ first venture into winter wear, and partnering with The North Face gave us the opportunity to tap into their expertise,” Kardashian shared. 

“The collection blends functional designs with flattering shapes for the season, and after spending a lot of time on the slopes, I was truly inspired to create pieces that I can’t wait to wear on my next trip.”

The limited-edition collection pairs SKIMS’ sculpting, compressive base layers with The North Face’s high-performance outerwear. 

Featured items include a down jacket, fleece jacket, down one-piece, waterproof shell pants, an adaptive bodysuit, and DotKnit tops and bottoms, alongside accessories such as beanies, gloves, and insulated mules.

David Whetstone, The North Face’s director of collaborations, emphasized the technical approach, saying, “At The North Face, innovation and functionality are always at the forefront, and this collaboration is no exception. 

We maintained the highest standards of construction and materials, born from mutual admiration for both brands.”

The campaign, shot by Vanessa Beecroft, showcases the collection on models descending the snow-capped mountains of Chile. 

A second campaign, which will feature Kardashian herself wearing key pieces, is set to be released soon.

The SKIMS x The North Face collection will be available starting December 10, both online and at select retail locations. Sizes range from XXS to 3X, with prices ranging from $60 to $1,200.

Online reactions to the collaboration have been varied, with some expressing excitement and others offering critiques. 

One commenter humorously remarked, "If they do thermal micro g-strings sign me up," while another admitted, "Kim, I literally am trying to save money right now. Pls." 

Some fans felt the aesthetic had echoes of Kanye West’s designs, with one writing, "This feels like Kanye’s aesthetic" and another stating, "It reminds me of the Kanye West Yeezy fashion shows from the 201x’s." 

One user even said, “The first pic is actually a little scary. Why are they dressed and standing there menacingly like my sleep paralysis demons?”

Others critiqued the use of logos in the design, with one commenting, “I’m not a fan of the logos stacked on top of one another, looks bad. Otherwise, everything looks fine. Nothing special.”
