Sean "Diddy" Combs appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Friday to request bail as he awaits trial on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
The 55-year-old music mogul, dressed in a khaki jail-issued outfit, greeted family members, including his twin 17-year-old daughters, Jesse and D’Lila Combs, who attended the hearing in support.
Diddy’s legal team has asked Judge Arun Subramanian to release him on a $50 million bond. This marks his fourth bail attempt after previous denials citing concerns that Combs poses an "extreme danger to the community" and has allegedly tampered with witnesses. Prosecutors allege that Combs ran Bad Boy Records as a criminal enterprise for over a decade, using his power to abuse women and intimidate witnesses.
The indictment details claims of forced drug-fueled sexual encounters during what Combs allegedly called "Freak Offs." Evidence collected during raids at his Los Angeles and Miami homes reportedly included narcotics and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant. Combs has pleaded not guilty, with his lawyers asserting that the sexual encounters were consensual.
Judge Subramanian is expected to issue a ruling on Combs’ bail request following the hearing. The trial is set for May 2025.
