Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were spotted together for the first time since their divorce news broke last month, sparking speculation about whether Matt Damon played a role in the couple’s post-split meeting.

On September 14, the former couple reunited with their children at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. This marked their first joint public appearance since Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, ending their two-year marriage.

Photos shared by DeuxMoi show Affleck, 52, and Lopez, 55, outside the hotel, with the "Air" actor dressed casually in blue jeans and a button-up shirt, while Lopez sported a black crop top and matching jeans. The two were later seen inside an SUV, with Affleck driving and Lopez in the passenger seat.

Interestingly, just days before this reunion, Lopez was seen having an extended conversation with Matt Damon, Affleck’s longtime friend and business partner, at the afterparty of their new movie Unstoppable at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The two reportedly chatted for over 20 minutes, laughing and discussing in depth. This interaction has led to speculation about whether Damon may have helped facilitate the reunion.

Although Affleck did not attend the film's premiere, he was seen in Los Angeles with his children, Samuel, 12, and Seraphina, 15. Meanwhile, Lopez attended the premiere alone, where she dazzled in a silver floor-length dress.

A source later told PEOPLE that Lopez “was excited to focus on work again” following her press tour and was “much happier than a few weeks ago.”
