Barry Keoghan is staying coy about a possible return as The Joker in The Batman Part II.
While details about the highly anticipated sequel to Matt Reeves' The Batman remain scarce, fans are eagerly waiting to see if Keoghan's Joker will make a reappearance.
Keoghan, who briefly portrayed the iconic villain in a scene with Paul Dano’s Riddler, addressed the speculation in a recent interview with Variety, but kept his cards close to his chest.
"There we go!" Keoghan responded when asked if he would return in the sequel. "I can't say much. The camera is looking right at me. We'll see where that goes. Again, it was an incredible experience … and yeah, I can't say."
This cryptic answer is consistent with previous interviews, where Keoghan avoided giving a direct answer. Last year, when asked about reprising the role, he remarked, "I can't really say anything about that, my man. But it would be exciting, wouldn't it? To see The Joker come to life again."
While Keoghan's involvement in The Batman Part II remains uncertain, Colin Farrell’s return as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, has been confirmed. Farrell will reprise his role in the sequel, which is scheduled to hit theaters in October 2026.
He is also set to star in HBO's The Penguin, which will premiere on September 19th and is expected to tie into the upcoming Batman film.
