Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, seemingly showed support for Donald Trump by liking an Instagram post from him in August.
In response, Trump publicly thanked her on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday.
Trump expressed gratitude for her support, calling her “beautiful” and praising her for defending him and the MAGA movement.
He also criticized current U.S. leadership and mentioned seeing the Mahomes couple at the Super Bowl.
Brittany received backlash after liking the post, which was titled “The 2024 GOP Platform” and included controversial topics such as deportation.
The like was later removed, but Brittany addressed her critics on Instagram, suggesting that those who harbor hatred have unresolved personal issues.
While Brittany has been more vocal about her views, Patrick Mahomes has remained neutral on political matters, avoiding endorsement of any candidate, as noted in a past Time magazine interview.
