Rapper Travis Scott was released without charges on Saturday following his arrest in Paris earlier this week, according to a representative.

The arrest occurred on Friday after an alleged altercation involving Scott, a security guard, and his own bodyguard at the luxurious George V hotel in central Paris. French authorities confirmed the incident, stating, "On August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard."

The Paris prosecutor's office explained that the security guard intervened to separate Scott from his bodyguard during the altercation. However, the case was later closed because the offense was deemed "not sufficiently serious," according to the prosecutor’s office.

A source close to Scott told NBC News that the rapper had been "swarmed" by fans and paparazzi throughout his time in Paris and blamed his bodyguard for failing to protect him adequately. The incident led to a scuffle with his security detail, resulting in his arrest. Scott's representative stated that they were in communication with local authorities "to swiftly resolve this matter."

Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was seen attending the men's Olympic basketball semifinal on Thursday. His recent arrest in Paris follows a disorderly intoxication charge in June after an incident in Miami Beach, Florida.
