Will Kate and Anthony return? Bridgerton stars Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey share thoughts

“We adore our characters… so much and their relationship and what they mean for the show,” said Simone Ashley.

Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey are not quite ready to say goodbye to Bridgerton.

During a press conference at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival on Saturday, June 15, the 29-year-old actress talked about the possibility of reprising her onscreen romance with Bailey, 36, in the fourth season of the Netflix series.

When questioned about their return as Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma in the upcoming season, Ashley expressed her hopes, telling reporters, "I really hope so."

“Both Johnny and I, we adore our characters, Kate and Anthony, so much and their relationship and what they mean for the show,” she said, adding, “I think we'll do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.”

Kate and Anthony took the spotlight as the main couple in Bridgerton season 2. They featured in both parts of season 3, where — spoiler alert — their characters made the decision to journey from the Bridgertons’ London home to Kate’s native India to celebrate the arrival of their first child.

Similar to the Julia Quinn novels that serve as the inspiration for the drama series, each season of Bridgerton focuses on a different member of the Bridgerton family and their quest for love. As of now, Netflix has not revealed the lead character for season 4.
