City Police Station Jaranwala's Station House Officer (SHO) Yusuf Shehzad Supra was arrested following allegations of harassing women and abusing their father.
The arrest comes after a court order prompted the registration of a case against the SHO, shedding light on serious misuse of authority.
The FIR, filed by Eram Shahzadi, a resident of Chak 61 GB, accuses SHO Yusuf Shehzad Supra of gross misconduct.
The report outlines a distressing series of events: Eram's mother had abandoned her husband, Zulfiqar Ali, and eloped with a man named Javed five years ago. Following this, Zulfiqar's estranged wife allegedly began blackmailing him.
Acting on her behalf, police detained Zulfiqar from his home and held him at the police station.
The following day, police reportedly brought Eram's 16-year-old sister, Aliza, to the station and subjected their father to torture. Furthermore, Aliza was handed over to a woman named Bashiran.
Upon reviewing the evidence, the court ordered the registration of a case against Bashiran, Javed, and SHO Yusuf Shehzad Supra, confirming the charges of harassment.
The City Police Station has since launched an investigation into the matter to uncover the full extent of the abuses committed.
This incident has sparked significant concerns about the misuse of power within the police force, emphasizing the urgent need for stringent oversight and accountability to protect citizens' rights.
