Kate Middleton’s new portrait unveiled on Wednesday, receiving mixed reactions from royal fans.
The portrait was painted by British-Zambian artist, Hannah Uzor, featured on Tatler magazine’s July 2024 cover.

Uzor took inspiration from the Princess of Wales' outfit at a state banquet in November 2022.
Middleton wore a white gown, floor-length, with crystal-embellished shoulders and billowing sleeves to the event.
The Princess of Wales also wore the ‘Lover’s Knot tiara, Queen Elizabeth’s pearl bracelet, and Princess Diana’s South Sea pearl-and-diamond drop earrings.
Kate’s look was completed with a blue sash and yellow pin, which was all shown in Uzor’s portrait.
“I spent a lot of time looking at her, looking at her pictures, watching videos of her, seeing her with her family, seeing her in diplomatic visits, seeing her when she’s rowing or visiting children in hospice,” Uzor said as the Princess was not there for the photo due to her illness.
“It’s been really interesting for me to get a sense of who she is,” the artist added.
The portrait was not loved by many on Instagram.
“Disappointing portrait … our POW is far more beautiful ..,” a user wrote. Another agreed by saying, “A very poor portrait which totally fails to represent the beauty and elegance of the Princess of Wales.”
The other said, “What a horrible portrait for a beautiful Woman.”
“This does not look like the PoW at all. I thought it was a joke at first,” another ‘Instagrammer’ wrote.
However, there were others who supported the portrait.
