Did Clint Eastwood return his Oscars?

This incident is not the first time Eastwood's name and likeness have been used for misleading purposes.

A viral Facebook meme alleging that Oscar-winning actor Clint Eastwood returned his Academy Awards in protest of "woke nonsense" in Hollywood is false. Despite the meme's popularity, a representative for Eastwood confirmed that the 93-year-old filmmaker still retains his awards.

The meme originated on "The America's Last Last of Defense" Facebook page, a platform known for satire and parody content. While the page includes a disclaimer stating that "nothing on this page is real," the meme has garnered significant attention, with many commenters believing the information to be true.

This incident is not the first time Eastwood's name and likeness have been used for misleading purposes. Last month, representatives clarified that Eastwood does not have any official social media accounts after a fake account surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

Eastwood, known for his roles in iconic films like "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby," has maintained a low profile in recent months, with a rare appearance alongside Dr. Jane Goodall at a wildlife conservation event in California.
