ISLAMABAD:

Caretaker Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik on Wednesday said that the import of any kind of seeds would not be permitted as rules and regulations were the government’s priority and according to the law no seed could be imported.

He stressed that the food security ministry would provide all possible support to the industry and sought the submission of a technical and commercial research report on soybean in a week.

“It is our vision to solve problems of livestock and poultry sectors on a priority basis,” he remarked while presiding over a meeting of the All Pakistan Solvent Extractors Association. Malik emphasised that all work should be done before importing soybean as it was necessary to check which seeds had more economic benefits.
