11 killed in Punjab road crashes

Another 1,297 injured in accidents 73% of which involved motorbikes

At least 11 people died, whereas 1,297 were injured in 1,169 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 657 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 640 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority (73%) involved motorbikes.

Furthermore, the analysis showed those 607 drivers, 37 underage drivers, 156 pedestrians, and 545 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 260 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 290 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 87 in Multan with 94 victims and at third Faisalabad with 74 RTCs and 82 victims.

The details further reveal that 1308 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 1018 males and 290 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 189 were under 18 years of age.
