KARACHI:

The judicial magistrate East has extended the physical remand of accused Shireen Asad for two days in a case related to the torture and death of a 12-year-old domestic help.

Police presented the accused Shireen before the City Court after the completion of her physical remand.

The court was informed that the victim's body had not been exhumed yet. The victim's brother, who was allegedly tortured, was also under treatment.

The court extended the physical remand of the accused by two days and directed the investigation officer to submit the progress report at the next hearing.

Missing persons case

A two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulphoto heard petitions related to the recovery of missing persons, including a girl.

The petitioners' counsel submitted that 14-year-old Simran has been missing since June last year. The girl left the house for the madrassa and was never found.

Another person, Ibad-ul-Hassan, has been missing since 2017. He was last seen in the jurisdiction of Rizvia police station.

The court instructed the police to find the missing persons and reunite them with their families. The IO told the court that police were close to finding the missing and they were in contact with the girl's faily.
