‘Victim’ seeking treatment turns out to be robber

He told the medics he was travelling through the Site Super Highway area when unknown people attempted to rob him

KARACHI:

An injured man seeking treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, claiming to be a robbery victim, turned out to be a robber on the run, police said.

A man named Fahad reached Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in an injured condition between Tuesday and Wednesday night.

He told the medics that he was travelling through the Site Super Highway area when unknown people attempted to rob him at gunpoint. When he resisted, the accused shot and injured him and escaped from the spot. The doctors were dubious of the injured’s statement, therefore, they immediately notified the police. When the police corroborated the victim’s statement, his lies were exposed.

Police officials said the Jauharabad police exchanged gunfire with three accused in Dastgir, where one of the accused was injured, but his companions managed to take him away before Fahad reached the hospital.
