Citizen used his licensed pistol to shoot the armed suspected robbers

A citizen shot dead a suspected robber and injured his accomplice during a robbery bid in the Shershah area on Thursday. A passerby was also injured in the firing.

Sources said the citizen, Muhammad Amir, had withdrawn cash from a bank on the Jinnah Road in the Shershah area when bike-riding bandits robbed him at gunpoint. However, as the suspects were escaping, Amir shot them from behind. In this regard, Shershah police station duty officer Sub-Inspector Abdul Rehman said that Amir used his licensed pistol to shoot the suspected robbers.

The decease suspect was identified as Aryan, 23, while the injured as, Sabir, who was shifted to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital for medical assistance. During the firing, a passerby, Ghulam Hussain, was also injured.

The arrested robber is being further interrogated, and his criminal record is being checked. However, Shershah police are registering a case on the complaint of Amir.
