With an apparent failure of police to provide security, citizens have now started dealing with the robbers on their own.

A mob lynched two suspected robbers in the Patni area of the Baldia Town, while a businessman shot dead two suspected snatchers in the Korangi Industrial Area.

As per the Baldia Town police and the video of the gory incident that went viral on the social media two armed robbers entered a medical store in the Patni area intending to commit robbery.

However, as they were escaping the scene, the medical store owner, Ehsan Salim, opened fired on them with his licensed pistol, injuring one of the suspects. Under fire and injured, the robbers got confused and could not make escape in time as people nearby soon started hitting them stones, bricks and iron rods

The mob tortured the suspects to deaths. One of the dead suspects was later identified as Nadir, 30.

Separately, DSP Landhi Nawaz Khan and SHO Awami Colony Jamal Khan Laghari told The Express Tribune that a factory owner Abrar and his manager Faizan were returning to the factory after withdrawing Rs50,000 from a bank branch in Korangi Industrial Area when they had an encounter with robbers.

Two suspects riding a motorcycle started to chase Nawaz and Jamal and after travelling a short distance, they intercepted them and tried to snatch the money from them at gunpoint.

At this, the factory owner resisted and grabbed the pistol from the robbers. The factory owner then opened fire on the robbers with the same gun. As a result, both the robbers died on the spot. According to the police, during the incident of robbing the factory owner, a shopping bag containing cash, a mobile phone, and an internet device fell to the ground. It was stolen away by someone else from the crowd. As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and recovered a 125 motorcycle and a 9mm pistol from the possession of the deceased robbers before shifting the bodies to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. According to the police, the deceased robbers could not be immediately identified. According to the police, the victim owns a motorcycle parts factory in Korangi. The police are trying to get the CCTV footage to trace and arrest the bystanders who looted away cash and other articles.

Street crimes and robbery incidents are on high trajectory, despite the formation and patrolling of the Shaheen Force in the city. A motorcycle-riding robber escaped after snatching a million rupees from a factory employee in the New Karachi Industrial Area.

Meanwhile in the PECHS area motorcycle-riding robber wearing pant, shirt with tie deprived citizens of cash and mobile phone at the doorstep of their apartment building.

In another incident, two robbers took a car occupants hostage and deprived them of cash and mobile phones in Shadman Town. The CCTV footages of all the incidents came to light, however, police have yet to identify and arrest the suspets.
