Rescue 1122 officials, after a two-hour long rescue operation, freed a crow that was tangled in kite-string in a eucalyptus tree at Lahore High Court. Witnesses admired the services of rescue officials they were rending to protect humans, animals and birds.
Litigants and lawyers in the area noticed a crow hanging in the air that was badly tangled in kite string, with other crows crying around the tree. Rescue 1122 was called to extricate the trapped bird.
Rescue officials promptly reached the spot and started a multi-phase operation. In the first phase, the rescue team could not reach the crow and requested another vehicle to reach that height.
Two rescuers reached the crow and brought it down. Officials gave the crow first aid and water before untying and freeing it. The whole operation took over two hours
It was an interesting moment when rescue officials were moving towards the crow, who was fighting for its survival, as the movement of some other crows began to speed up and they grew more vocal.
It was as if the other crows were directing rescue staffers to aid and release the trapped bird.
Talking with The Express Tribune, the rescue staffers said that “life is precious, be it that of a human being, an animal or a bird”.
They added that it was their obligation which they rendered. “We are very happy to have helped a bird, who could not call for help like people,” they added.
