Man held for raping step nephew’s aunt

Accused allegedly threatened to kill woman if she raised hue and cry

ISLAMABAD:

Police arrested a man for allegedly raping his step nephew’s aunt in Morgah in the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi police station on Wednesday.

Police have registered a case against the suspect named Tauqeer Liaquat.

According to the police, the woman informed them that she lived in Muzaffarabad. A month ago, she married Hamza Gilani and about four days ago she along with her husband went to Liaquat's half-brother house near Sawan Adda, where Liaquat started talking to her. She also chatted with him. At night, when she went out to take her hanging clothes, she saw Liaquat sitting on the stairs outside his room. “Suddenly, he grabbed my arms and took me to his room, threatening to kill me if I informed anyone about him,” she said, adding that when her husband noticed that she was upset so she narrated the entire story.

After listening to her ordeal, her husband brought her to the police station. The police registered a case against Liaquat.

SP Pothohar Rana Wahab confirmed that the step nephew who allegedly raped the married woman has been arrested. The accused will be challaned with solid evidence and will be punished severely by the court.
