13 die in Punjab road accidents

66% of Road Traffic Crashes involved motorcycles

LAHORE:

At least 13 people were killed and 1,059 injured in the 1,011 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) recorded across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these figures, 591 people were seriously injured and shifted to different hospitals, 468 injured victims were treated at the incident site.

The majority of RTCs, 66% in fact, involved motorcycles. The analysis showed that 500 drivers, 35 underage drivers, 130 pedestrians, and 442 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 266 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 267 casualties, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list; followed by 81 RTCs in Multan with 77 victims and Faisalabad at third with 71 RTCs and 76 victims.
