Four children and two women were killed after a van collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with bricks and fell into a ditch due to high speed near Kahna on Sunday.
The accident took place after the driver of the van reportedly lost control over the steering wheel due to speeding. The vehicle collided with the tractor-trolley near the Haloki railway crossing and fell into a ditch.
Police said four children and two women travelling in the van were killed in the accident. They said nine people were travelling in the vehicle from Raiwind. Five of the victims died on the spot, while one child passed away after being taken to a hospital.
Three other people were injured in the accident.
Rescue teams arrived at the spot and shifted the three injured persons to Lahore General Hospital.

The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Rukhsana Shahbaz, 40-year-old Naeema Mushtaq, eight-year-old Faizan, six-year-old Safiyan, 10-year-old Zain and 11-year-old Ali Hassan.
Zeenat Allahrakha, aged 10, Ali Allahrakha, eight, and 50-year-old Amna Hidayat Ali were injured.
According to the police, the deceased were residents of the Chungi Amarsadhu area.
The police transferred the bodies to a morgue.
On December 2, 2021, a speeding tractor-trolley hit a motorcyclist near Bedian Elite Training School in Barki area of Lahore, killing three people in the accident.
The dead were identified as 32-year-old Zaman, Hasnain and 60-year-old Amin. The bodies of the three were handed over to the police by rescue personnel.
Police took the bodies into custody and shifted them to Mayo Hospital morgue.
The driver of the tractor-trolley responsible for the accident managed to escape. Police took the tractor-trolley into custody and started searching for the driver.
Police say there were no relatives killed in the crash. The driver of the tractor-trolley hit two separate motorcycles.
On October 18 last year, two people were killed and a minor girl sustained injuries when a car collided with a tractor trolley in the wee hours of the day.
